Bible Study Verse

I Peter 5: 6-9
6 “Therefore, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time,7 casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you. 8 Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.9 But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world.” (NASB)

Thoughts
Whether you’re good at an outdoor sport that you’re proficient in or really bad, you still need to stay humble. It’s good to remind ourselves that we don’t receive any gift unless given to us by our Lord and God. He will elevate us to a position of authority at His designated time when it brings Him the most glory – not to us.

Action Point
With the gift of faith that God has given us, you must cast all your anxiety upon Him. (Trust Him to have your back!) We need to continue to cast or direct our faith and trust towards Him for everything else as well. (Even for protection from our unseen spiritual enemies)

Why? Because Jesus cares about us like none other. There is absolutely no one else who cares about us more than our Lord Jesus!

Sportsmen’s Tip of the Day
If you think you are only going to go out hunting or fishing for a short while, bring a bottle of water and some kind of energy bar with you anyway. For me, a two-hour fishing trip can easily turn into six plus hours (especially when the big boys are biting). Just one more cast!
