Thoughts
I consider the practice of hunting as a key to the success of hunting. What I mean by that is; the more time I spend in the field, the deeper my understanding of the multitude of factors that lead to a successful hunt. I can learn about the terrain, the water holes, the other animals in the area, the other people in the area, and so on. Staying involved with the whole story of the hunt makes me more connected and more passionate. In turn, my children will have an understanding and passion for the hunt.
Action Point
The verse above follows the record of prophet Joshua who died and within one generation of this occurrence, the Israelites became a nation that no longer knew God- and they suffered for it. Our own nation has seen a similar occurrence. We began as a nation who was founded through godly principals and recognized God as our leader above the men who represented our country. We are losing that foundation and we are suffering for it. If we wish to be more connected and more passionate in our relationship with the Lord, we need to spend time in His field. That does not just include studying the Word, but fellowship and worship in the way He has instructed us. In turn, our children will have a better understanding and passion for Christ.

Scouting is part of practice. The more you are in the field, the more you can learn about your hunting area. You will find small nuances that only exist in certain spots within your area. Small springs, beds, trails, rubs, natural pinch points and so on.
