Bible Study Verse
Are you a perfectionist? I got to thinking that some outdoorsmen tend to lean in this direction. We spend lots of time planning the perfect weekend to hunt or fish by preparing our gear, picking the right moon phase, picking the right wind direction, picking the right weather hot or cold, and picking the location we hunt or fish. However it never seems to work out just the way we planned or thought it would turn out. Sometimes it can become very frustrating.
Action Point
Give up trying to be perfect! Do the best you can, but allow God to live His perfect life through you. The command in Mathew 5:48, is impossible apart from the enabling power of Christ who indwells in each true believer. Life will be much more enjoyable not expecting or desiring perfectionism. It’s called setting yourself free.
Sportsmen’s Tip of the Day
Take a camera with you each time you make a special trip to the woods, lake, stream, river, coast or mountains. You will usually see the neatest things outdoors and it’s fun to capture them in camera. I have found this to be much more enjoyable and helps me to overcome going home empty handed. Its allows me to look back and see how God blessed me with the beauty of his nature. Frustration gone.
