Bible Study Verse
1 Corinthians 15:33
Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.” (NKJV)
Thoughts
Think back on your life. How often was it you? How often were you the evil company? How about in high school? Were you the one who always came up with those hair brained ideas? Were you the one who offered the drinks or the cigarettes to your friends? Did you let your hormones get the best of you with the girls?
We frequently think of the “evil companion” as someone else. Could it be that the evil companion is “me”? Do I repeat dirty jokes? Do I forward the filth that is on the internet? Or how about when the officer stops you? What kind of a message do you give your children who are always watching you and establishing their habits?
Action Point
In your walk today make sure that you aren’t the evil company, but instead be a Light bearer. Jesus is the Light of the world.
Sportsmen’s Tip of the Day
Good habits are the foundation for good performance. When developing or changing a habit experts tell us that you have to repeat/practice it at least ten times the way you want it to be. This holds true for shooting/golfing/boating/flying, you name it. Practice makes perfect, but only if you practice it correctly!
